This just boggles the mind:

“most electronics has a useful life of 3 years”.

How in the world can anyone be so shortsighted to not understand that a
supposed envirionmental improvement has led to tons of extra chemical waste?

But perhaps the lead-free fiasco might finally be the one that becomes so
blatantly outrageous that we learn our lesson? Though I'm afraid the
admissions we would need to make about the Quixotic nature of controllong
the earths temperature probably preclude any rational approach to
environmental regulation for many years to come. And there's too much fame
and fortune to be gained by the ones driving all of this to allow it to be
effective.
