Christine - it's not quite so simple as just saying you'll take it all

back at EOL. There are bureaucracy hurdles along the way and unless the

company already has a cognizant team addressing similar issues such as

the Packaging directive then it would probably be uneconomical to try

and go it alone in this way.

I would suggest you might talk to http://www.b2bcompliance.org.uk/ who

seem to be leading the way as a compliance scheme for B2B producers.

Regards,

Chris

Subject: [LF] EU WEEE Registration.....Recommendations

Dear List Members,

We are B2B reseller of a Sever type product used for IP Security which

will be sold in the EU next quarter.

Can anyone recommend a company that can register these products for us

in the EU for WEEE and setup a recycling program for us? The Mfr of

these products do not have a WEEE program that is acceptable to our

management ( See email below) so we have decided to register the

products in lieu of partnering with them on the WEEE.

  Thank you,

Chris Rodham

  Dear List Members,

One of our suppliers( who manufacturers a Server type

product used for IP security) has opted to provide

"All" of their customers with a 100% "End of Life"

take back program of their products which consists of

detailed instructions on how to return the unit back

to the USA for disposal.

They state by doing this, they will be in compliance

with the EU WEEE directive since they are removing all

EE waste from the EU countries.

Is this a legal way to comply with the the WEEE

directive?

Thank you!
