Larry,

The headaches of conversion on an old machine outweighed the cost of a
new machine.

Go for the new machine. "Generally" the cost of the conversion is close
to the cost of a new machine with new technology and a warranty. It is
kind of like trying to upgrade your Pentium II 250 MHz computer to run
the latest OS and demanding video action games. By the time you are
done the only thing left from the old PC is the case and the floppy
drive.

Subject: [LF] Wave Solder Machine w/lead free

Anyone out there tried using an older wave solder machine with lead-free
solder? We use an AstraPak 400 (about 10 years old) with leaded solder,
but soon to convert to lead-free. Knowing about the possible corrosion
of pump parts and any machine parts in contact with the lead-free
solder, was wondering if anyone has any actual experience with this?
