Well stated.

The US took much heat for not signing Kyoto. But no one bothered to ask
why. It's far more fun to attack the government and big business, since we
all need our windmills to joust. I wish the government could take the same
approach to RoHS/WEEE, but unfortunately, we are stuck with it regardless
of borders. If the EU was so worried about how muh electronic equiplment
is ending up in landfills, why are they forcing us to remove the one
substance (lead) that will virtually ensure drastic reductions in lifetime
for electronic devices, thus creating far MORE waste? Should we recycle,
or should we reduce the need for disposal? I am sure the $100 billion
already spent on RoHS could have been far more effectively applied to
environmental improvement, had anyone bothered to do the science first.

Davy has presented some excellent research and actual facts.
Unfortunately, it's barking at the burglar as he leaves the house...........
