Does that mean that you can take any traditionally coated part and
basically convert it to a lead-free compliant part? (this is regardless of
cost!!). I would be interested in more information on this as like several
other members of his forum, we have an array of legacy products that we
Remanufacture and support. A redesign of these PCB's would be cost
prohibitive let alone impossible in the time frame. If this is truly
available I see a huge business potential here for converting non-compliant
parts. If I remember correctly there was a thread from a member a while
ago asking whether or not there was a RoHS waiver to allow the use of a
part that he had 5 years stock off, so maybe this is the answer for him as
well?
