Politics evolve?... and I thought I was an optimist... ;-)

You are right though, Robin. Politicians have a hard time  discerning the
details of enlightened self interest (self interest beyond bribes  and campaign
contributions that is... ;-). With any luck, their constituents can  prod them
along. Hope springs eternal...
