Leadnetters,
I know that tin/nickel and tin/copper are essentially unsolderable with
no-clean fluxes. What about tin/gold intermetallics? I know there are
high temperature tin/gold solders and I know we solder to gold plating
and palladium because of diffusion of these high melting metals into
solder at our usual soldering temperatures, but what about tin/gold that
has been exposed to the air?

And, yes, I know that 4% gold in tin is not good, but that has nothing
to do with my question.
Bev
