Badri, I assume that you have concluded that it's not a good idea to use
IPA to clean after using a no-clean flux. Years ago, there were lots of
papers discussing "white residue." I published one showing that
soldering modifies the composition of rosin in such a way that when then
exposed to IPA it forms an insoluble residue.
If you have assemblies that have this residue on them, it is possible
(in a laboratory fume hood because of its flammability) to remove it
with either tetrahydrofuran or acetonitrile.
