Hi Nick, Gordon, IPC LF Listservers,

From what I have read I agree with DTI-Nick. The courts and the way they
work in the EU have already been involved in cadmium and will be involved
in the future as one country has different laws, regulations, treaties etc
and runs into import or other difficulties.

Nick knows better than me yet at the back of 91/338/EEC which is an amend
to 76/769/EEC cadmium for "electrical contacts in any sector of use, on
account of reliability" seems to keep things clean for contacts. Ref:
31991L0338

From what I understand and have read on the Europa site if Nick and UK-DTI
really felt the necessity they could go to the EU for a preliminary reading.

Yours in Engineering, Dave

P.S. Wow was I sleepy on my one note in this topic, and my computer crashed
so I couldn't fix my country goofs. Austria and Sweeden not the two I noted
were involved with another country on cadmium.
