All,
Almost all metals are up over this same time period- including lead.
There are several macro and micro economic reasons for it.

Thanks for the comments. Its good to have you back in the mix.
You are right that tin is down from its $10,000 recent high but it is
up substantially from its most recent $3500 nadir. Which might have
been the result of mining jumping the gun in production based on
projected demand, the hangover from 9/11 pounding and the dot.com bust
or perhaps a combination of the two
That aside, tin, as I recall, has been identified as a strategic metal
by a US government agency, which implies risk of scarcity and is not
likely to make it cheaper in the future,
Of course, it could be considered strategic simply be because the US
does not mine tin.
