Hi Wolf-Dieter,
You actually hace 3 choices: 1) As you say: "switch over to SAC or comparable
solders," 2) reball the BGAs to SnPb balls at a cost increase of about 60%
[according to a paper   last week at the frankfurt IPC/JEDEC conference, or 3)
order the BGAs without balls and ball them with SnPb ball yourself (or through
a vendor).
