Perhaps I should expand on my last msg.................. it is not a

simple matter of having customers ship you back the WEEE. In the EU WEEE

is Hazardous Waste and the rules and regulations regarding the movement,

transport, storage and final disposal of Hazardous Waste would have to

be met............ not trivial or normally economic on a what would be a

relatively small scale............

Regards,

Chris

Yes it is but only for professional equipment such as they are building

and

not consumer level items.

Subject: [LF] Alternatives to EU WEEE Registration and Collection

Program

  Dear List Members,

One of our suppliers( who manufacturers a Server type

product used for IP security) has opted to provide

"All" of their customers with a 100% "End of Life"

take back program of their products which consists of

detailed instructions on how to return the unit back

to the USA for disposal.

They state by doing this, they will be in compliance

with the EU WEEE directive since they are removing all

EE waste from the EU countries.

Is this a legal way to comply with the the WEEE

directive?

Thank you!

Chris Rodham
