Greetings,

Article 6 of the RoHS requires the Commission to present proposals regarding the scope and in particular categories 8 and 9 which are currently out of scope for the RoHS.
Is anyone aware of the status of these proposals?

Article 6
Review
Before 13 February 2005, the Commission shall review the measures provided for in this Directive to take into account, as necessary, new scientific evidence.
In particular the Commission shall, by that date, present proposals for including in the scope of this Directive equipment which falls under categories 8 and 9 set out in Annex IA to Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE).

Subject: Re: [LF] TAC July 2004 on MCV

Dear Gerhard
Several decisions of TAC must be re-done all because of various procedural reasons caused by errors from the Commission. Each is in a slightly different (but similar) situation I dont have time to explain - essentially, the recent exemption decision must be re-done, the impurity limit one is delayed several months, a published decision on spare parts in ELV must be withdrawn and re-done....etc

The EP (parliament) also has concerns over the substance of the exemption decision i.e. are all exemptions truly required, and may wish to investigate. There are also other concerns over procedures used by the Commission for this decision.

regards
Kay
