Hi Werner, Jean, and IPC LF Listservers,
Gee I haven't heard China Lake mentioned in awhile.
I can imagine Werner's comments about prime investigators is a Bell Labs
prejudice for the world was created only and always in Bell Labs. By the
way Werner, I worked for awhile as a contractor at Breidingsville, PA the
lab that Bell people didn't want to go to from Murray Hill.
My guess about annealing is that it was created by particular groups and
companies with metalurgists, under some reasonable at the time ideas, that
under initial usage conditions a joint would go through an annealing
process. So they first wanted to create this condition before they
conducted a longer life test.
