The link below connects to the EU's New Approach Consultation paper
which I thought you might want to look at, in case you hadn't seen it.
The EU is soliciting comments on this Consultation paper by July 26th.
The email address to send comments is shown at the bottom of the
introduction on page one of the link. 

Anyone who has to meet CE mark requirements on a regular basis might be
interested in seeing this report.  The last 5 pages of the 51 page
document talks about possibly revising the CE mark program.  Perhaps
your trade association or some of your companies would want to comment
on how the CE mark program could be improved. 

The Commerce Department plans on submitting some comments to the EU.
Please pass this report on to any of your companies that might be
interested and encourage them to make comments.
