Thanks Denny,

The biggest problem I having is the customer is requesting we ensure full
compliance which we cannot give bc our screws/fastener vendors may source
from multiple suppliers in turn may do the same.

Would you have any suggestions to tackle this problem?

Fasteners technology is an area that often requires special knowledge about
friction and joint design (e.g. Coefficient of Friction and/or
Torque-Tension). We know this area well and have R&D capability to support
special needs.
Simply using stainless steel is a response that ignores cost, friction,
galvanic corrosion and availability issues.

You may want to visit _www.zinklad.com_ (http://www.zinklad.com) for
detailed information about applicators, technology and automotive OEM
approvals.
This program consists of Approved Platers that are audited on a quarterly
basis for compliance to the proper protocol. These finishes are free of
hexavalent chromium.

I suspect that other suppliers of corrosion protection coatings are also
into a certification mode to help police whether customers are properly
using
chemicals designed for RoHS compliance.
