Hi folks

Just a comment on this.  Please be very careful when quoting melting ranges
taken from DSC experiments, especially for near-eutectic alloys.  A DSC keeps
heating (or thinks it does) even when melting a pure metal/eutectic/congruently
melting phase, so an apparent 'range' always results.  Also the peak
temperature range itself has a shallow dependence on heating rate that should
be calibrated out.

Apologies if this has stated the obvious to expert practitioners!
