An exemption is just that, an exemption - for RoHS there is no need to

do anything.

For WEEE you would need to be able to provide a recycler details of any

"hazardous" items within the product, so it may be advisable to mention

any exemptions applied there.

Chris

Subject: Re: [LF] RoHS: Exemptions

Hi Group,

While the following RoHS exemptions below are valid, how does a

manufacture legally obtain the exemption.? Will declaring it in their

DOC suffice? Is anybody taking the exemption? Is everybody taking the

exemption :o)

* Lead in high melting temperature type solders (i.e. tin-lead solder

alloys containing more than 85 % lead)

* Lead in solders for servers, storage and storage array systems

(exemption granted until 2010)

* Lead in solders for network infrastructure equipment for switching,

signaling, transmission as well as network management for

telecommunication

* Lead in electronic ceramic parts (e.g. piezoelectronic devices).

Thanks,

Jeff Collins
