As president of a non-profit gymnastics booster club - I assure you that you
are underestimating the costs of running a non-profit! Intake for this one
event, while, when so successful should more than cover that one event, one
would hope that it would also help with the rest of the years expenses.
Perhaps also less "successful" events that still promote the groups
educational agenda.

Sincerely,

Mike:

If 200 people were attending and all of them were AeA members paying $300
each, the take from the seminar would be $60,000. If all attending were not
AeA members, the take would be $80,000. So I'm guessing that the seminar
brought in $70,000. That's enough to fly them all first class round trip.
If that's what they did - nice not-for-profit to be associated with (and now
you know why congress doesn't want to give up junket flights paid by
lobbyists). But business class would only amount to about half that total.
Throw in some five star hotel rooms and amenities, and maybe you're back at
$70,000.

Tim
