Metcal identify Lead Free compliant tips for the MX500 System (i.e. not
plated with lead containing solder alloy) by placing a reference "LF" at the
end of the Lot No. Your local Metcal Tech Support should be able to assist.
If you need any further assistance with diagrams etc. don't hesitate to
contact me off line.

Subject: [LF] Soldering iron tips

Hi everyone,
Thanks ahead of time for your help.

We have a Metcal soldering iron stations. It is a Smartheat
MX-500P-11model. Do I need to order or does Metcal have iron tips for the
no lead hand soldering process?

I know that the usual tips are tin-lead plated tips and of course we can't
have the lead in the no lead solder joint.

I have not seen any discussions on soldering iron tips. Anyone have any
information?

Thanks
