Hi Joey and Tom. Just barely- It's o'beer:30 in these parts.
I agree, don't use that particular script without tweaking it as Joey shows.
Dave Corbett suggested that we change to the optional military design. I can't remember where it is drawn at the moment. The electrodes all lay directly on top of each other, and there is no Y (trumpet), but rather a T at each layer. 1-10C committee approved this recommendation in Vegas. The primary benefit is real-estate. It will be added to 2221 appendix A draft.
Have a great weekend.
Chris

Yes, we used to build our coupons like that until DSCC slapped our hands for the reasons mentioned. The IPC-2221 Coupon sub-committee is looking into the feasibility of creating this coupon in this fashion now. Chris, are you out there?

[IPC-600-6012] E coupon configuration
We noted that our coupon generator flips the direction of the Y circuit
pattern on the 10th layer to control the length of the E coupon, as shown
in the 1st screenshot below.
Arguably it may compromise the integrity of the test between layers 10 and
11, since there is basically no overlapping circuits. Does a re-design
like the one the 2nd screenshot below violate any coupon design reqts??
The 10th plane use wires in both directions so that it is effective in
testing both against the 9th and 11th planes like this. (Blue is the 10th
plane, Yellow is the 11th plane, purple-ish is where there is data on both
planes)
Has anyone else run into this situation??
