Someone recently mentioned the possibility that developed-country
enterprises may have less stringent standards for developing-country
subsidiaries. The following site:

is not exactly the same thing but it gives a good example of how a
consumer of printed circuit boards ensures they are manufactured
world-wide to reasonable environmental standards.
