Denny, you can extract the sample slash sheet and the two UL tables from
the slides I sent you just now.

Subject: [EM] Draft agenda for Friday call

Here is the draft agenda for our Friday call (December 19 at 1:00 pm
Central. The call-in number is 620-584-8200.
The PIN is 63791.) We might post another agenda before the call.

1. Standards status - Dave McGregor (DuPont) will discuss the status of EP
materials standard 4902. We hope to have this posted on our web site
below by that time. Especially, we will want to review the proposed
information for the slash sheets that will be unique for each material
used for resistors or capacitors.

2. If we have time, Kim Fjelsted will bring us up to speed on his needs
for 2316 Embedded Passive Design Guide

3. We will have the UL testing matrix on the site below before the call
for your review. We will take any questions you may have at that time.

4. Review of embedded passive upcoming events:
        A. IPC Expo activities (attached)
        B. Designcon activities on February 2 (posted on web page by
Friday call)

5. Any inputs for Rich Ulrich for his magazine column

6. Design - Format wanted for presentation to group - Presentation each
call for 3-4 calls, Posting to web page, Special format call?
A Library status for design of resistors and capacitors - can this
information be standardized from something like the Slash Sheet of 4902

7. Patent status on capacitance. How we want to cover the information:
        A. What is patented
        B. What is licensed
C Sources of information about this whole issue

8. Postings on web page concerning Embedded Component status in Europe. (2
Papers)

9. Other interests as time permits

The address for infomration for our Embedded Users Group is
www.ipc.org/EPUG . Please review that site now, and again before the call
on Friday.

Don?t be passive about embedded resistors and capacitors! IPC Printed
Circuits Expo, APEX and the Designers Summit, February 21-26, in Anaheim,
California will cover the gamut on this increasingly popular technology.

Below are our embedded passives half-day courses. You can attend these or
any of our other 60 courses.

?Introduction to Embedded Passives,?Dennis Fritz, MacDermid, Inc.
?Bridge the Design Tool Gap and Implement Embedded Resistors and
Capacitors in Circuit Boards,?Richard Snogren, Coretec, Inc.
?Integrated Passive Component Technology and Commercialization,?
Richard Ulrich, Ph.D., University of Arkansas
?Implementing Embedded and Built-In Self Test,? Louis Ungar, A.T.E.
Solutions
?Embedded Component Design: A Hands-on Experience,?
Michael Fitts, Mentor Graphics Corp.
?Embedded Passives Laser Trim,?Kim Fjeldsted, Arrowsmith Partners

And we have two conference sessions on Thursday, February 26, to further
pique your interest. Authors from all over the world will present over 130
papers in total and seven on embedded passives alone.

?Embedded Passives?Design,?David McGregor, DuPont Company (Thursday, Feb
26, 9:30 - 11:30)
?Embedded Passives?Materials and Processes,?David McGregor, DuPont Company
(Thursday, Feb 26, 1:00-2:30)

Never understood why you should participate in standard development
meetings? Here are three of the working committee meetings at the show.
Imagine what you could learn by listening in:

D-37d Embedded Passives Test Methods Task Group (Monday, Feb 23 1:30 -
5:00PM)
D-37b Embedded Passives Materials Task Group (Wednesday, Feb 25 1:30 -
5:00 PM)
D-37a Embedded Passives Design Task Group (Monday, Feb 23, 8-12 AM)

And, of course, while you?re at the show, be sure to walk the show floor
featuring over 500 printed circuit board and assembly exhibitors ready to
help you with your manufacturing concerns and interest in embedded
passives.

Make the most of your time and attend the networking and social
activities. Have fun while meeting new and prospective customers and
vendors.

If you?re interested in embedded passives, this is the one event you must
go to in February, 2004. Here?s more information on Extra Value Packages
and registration discounts. For further details on the show, go to
http://shows.ipc.org

We look forward to seeing you in Anaheim, California.

Director, IPC Industry Programs
