I doubt that standards will set this. I have heard of specific companies
setting their own for assemblies rx'd from a supplier. That's it.

I don't think a standards body such as the IPC wants to start dictating
this. Think about it.

It is really up to you the supplier & your customer who is taking delivery
of product from you. And it is really their call & how picky they want to
be. Any jumper wire already confesses to a design deficiency, YOUR
deficiency, so why should a customer accept this ? They are paying your for
a service that already, can be argued, (by them) you have shown deficiency
on.

Subject: [DC] Class 3 PCB Assembly Jumper Wire Limitation

All,
I have been tasked with trying to find out if there is a limitation on the
number of jumper wires permitted on a class 3 PCB assembly. I've looked @
610 and 7711 and 7721 and can't find anything. I would be grateful for any
direction anyone can give me on this.
