             From time to time we have also receive product that does not 
  agree to the end item requirements of the pwb drawing. In the ideal world,
  and IMO, if everyone is doing THEIR job, the product MUST BE CORRECT. The 
  pwb supplier has, or should have, inspection point during the fab process. 
  In addition, we have are own Source Inspector at a facility to ensure that 
  the pwb is compliant with the master drawing before product is shipped to
  us. In todays world, due to downsizing, lack of pride in doing one's job,
  lack of skill, sloppy work habits, etc. defective product is shipped.
  However, this is only a small percent of totally product.
             A more sinister and TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE scenario, is when a 
  supplier will knowingly ship bad product!!! He will hope to gets it by 
  your incoming inspection or if it impacts your schedule, the buyer will 
  accept-as-is and MAKE IT WORK. Obviously, this is not the norm, but has 
  occurred enought, so that when a problem occurs, we do not assume that the
  pwb is compliant with the master drawing.      
             Again, let me emphasize (before all the suppliers start to flame
  me) that this is a very small occurrence, but you should be aware of it.
  After you have populated, tested and debugged a complex SMT pwb, it is not
  the time to discover that it doesn't fit into the box because it is 
  non-compliant with regard to pwb thickness or any other problem. My 10 cents.   Did anyone/everyone fall asleep? Have a nice day.
