Ron,
At this time, I need assistance from the Mechanical Engineer to create
dimensioned drawings for our product. He uses Pro-E, and can export an IDF
or DXF file to me to use for documentation purposes. This works out well
most of the time. The other positive features of the product outweigh the
inability to dimension features. I can only hope that Mentor Graphics
will add this feature in the future.

The inability to dimension alone is reason enough to require the use of an
adequate tool unless, of course, you don't dimension your drawings at this
time. I would prefer to do all my work with one package.

The Mentor/Veribest does not support dimensioning at this time, you can add
lines and text manually only.
The rest of the fab / assy drawing can be done by adding drawing cells and
mechanical cells.

I am soliciting general feedback on the pros and cons of using board design
software to generate Fab and Assy drawing packages. (Level 3, including
notes and formats)
Does your board software support adequate drafting tools to generate these
drawings, or do you export the design to a drafting software?
I would be particularly interested in feedback from anyone using Theda board
software.
