Here's a bit of a different question concerning IPC-D-356 files ,
specifically , paragraph 7.9 soldermask field columns 73-74. This states a
code be used to specify soldermask info. My problem is this , the codes
provided can be interpreted in more than one fashion. For instsance code 0
means no soldermask...is that to say no soldermask on that particular feature
, or no soldermask clearance? My understanding is that S3 means slodermask
clearance on both sides of the board , however this could be interpreted
either way leaving it up to individuals rather than relying on a standard.
Could someone please give some insight on this matter? Just thought it was
spelled out in too general of terms.
Thanks in advance , Chris
Reed
