Lou, acid traps are created by acute-angle routing in the design and during
the acid-etching, manufacturing phase the acid buildup in these spots can
reduce trace widths.  Here is an excerpt from PADS software info: "company's
products can spot problems typically not looked at during the design
process, such as acid traps that can eat into pc-board traces. PADS Software
and ACT would like to bring this kind of information into the design cycle
