I use IPC 325A.
Also remember that a fab drawing is a legal contract. It has higher
priority than the IPC standards they refer to. If the vendor does not
deliver what it say, they are obligated to refab the boards. If your fab
drawing is wrong and the vendor builds to it, then you have to pay up
and rework.
The fab drawing is IMPORTANT so pay attention to what you are saying.
You go, Bill!

Bill,

I think it is a great initiative and hope it will be available for
download somewhere ;o)

I think a tougher job would be though writing a presentation on how to
write fab drawings. I don't know if this is covered in the CID classes,
but I surely know that 90% of the fab drawings that I see are either
meaningless, or have exagerated requirements. Not to mention that at
least 25% of the PCBs that I check have no fab drawings!

Any clues on where to find guidelines on writing tech notes for PCBs?

Regards,
Ioan
