Andy;

What is the IPC Designers Council doing about the loss of jobs to
foreign countries, outsourcing, and importation of foreign nationals (H1
visas) ???

Would you have any data on how bad the employment situation is in the
PCB Design field?

Also related is, What's being done to stop the loss of PCB board houses
moving to foreign counties ???

I would be interested in any legislation that they have got introduced
in congress.

Best Regards

Lou Dallara CID

Guys and gals, this is getting too much.

At the risk of sounding like a schoolmaster, can I please ask us all to
plug it and get back to curcuit boards and the things that hang off
them.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black

Puuhleeeze!

You say you think we should tone down this sort of discussion, then you
go on to pontificate on the wonderful job our president is doing

If you guys don't want this sort of discussion it's pretty simple:

DON"T START IT & DON"T CONTRIBUTE TO IT!!!!

If you have not "contributed" to this topic then surely you have the
right to ask that it end, but to give your opinion and then tell others
they cannot, ...

Well that's not very nice OR democratic

Sorry Bill, the current administration had data from agents in the field
that a domestic attack was about to take place, they had data from the
field telling them that there were no weapons of mass destruction in
Iraq

They ignored it, and we have suffered the consequences, we are entangled
in a war for which we have no immediate end or positive solution for
which we pay over ONE BILLION dollars a week for a purpose the president
LIED to us about. Families still are suffering the loss of their loved
ones from the WTC domestic attack for which the rest of us are only now
recovering; millions of people have lost their job.

That may be good enough for you; it is not good enough for me, being
gainfully employed does NOT drug me to reality

BTW, you might want to wait to thank me when I am finished

Mark you obviously feel passionate about your political point of view.
Respectfully, I think we should try to tone down the political
discussion and keep the discussion focused on the main reason this forum
is being provided, printed circuit design and the designers council.

There are many forums out there to express your political views and even
I have been reminded of that in the past... :)

Election years tend to get us wound up over these issues, but the design
issues will still be there long after the country makes up it's
collective mind who will be the next person we can hold responsible for
all the ills and successes of our country.

Personally, I believe the current president has done a pretty effective
job of keeping the country moving, and we are seeing an improvement in
the economy, which I think we all applaud. As long as we can keep
ourselves gainfully employed and someone doesn't nuke any major cities
here we have an environment in which to participate in the future of our
families. Our nation has been in and out of debt over and over in it's
history, and it will probably continue to be so as each administration
puts its agenda on the table.

Thanks for participating in the great political debate... it's another
thing we have fought and died for in this country to protect and please
continue to be passionate and thoughtful. I'm glad there are people like
you that truly care about the future of our nation and the world, if
more people were concerned we might actually improve the living
condition on our world and make a difference for more of the 2/3 of the
world that lives in poverty. After all the pursuit of happiness is a
global need and inline with all we hold dear. I will be happy when I get
this board I'm working on finished! :)

And guess who pays the interest on those T bills foreigners buy? The
taxpayers of the USA! These T-bills allow the government to spend more
than it takes in; guess who eventually pays higher taxes to pay back the
T-bills?

The trade deficit and budget deficit are two different animals but they
have the same affect: they eat up American taxpayers paychecks! Both are
enormous and only getting bigger. It did not help that GeeDubbaayoo
decided to spend the equivalent of $1000 for each American to "liberate"
Iraq last year. It will "only" cost $500 this coming year. And the year
after that, and the year after that, .... Add $4000 for this liberation
to the $6500 for the trade imbalance and the typical American family
gave over 10 grand to foreigners last year, add in the millions of aid
to countries like Israel, Egypt, Pakistan, ... which only PO's the
fanatic Muslims more since these governments would fall without it,
hence the WTC disaster. We are now burdened with an additional
expenditure to pay for the possibility of terror. This is a cost that
goes into everything we sell and buy. All of this is the result of our
government's decisions, the people we vote for and put in power.

All of these goods flowing into the US are a Trojan horse, whether they
contain terror or are just "innocent" goods; they are wrecking havoc on
our economy.

we are being blessed by the foreign countries for allowing us to obtain

goods that we value & cherish at such low prices that even our poorest

citizens can afford a microwave or windshield wiper or garbage pail made

in mexico.

the dollar weakening has no effect on what you buy with your paycheck

unless you choose to travel overseas.

our politicians don't build economies, they allow economies to flourish
or

collapse depending upon how intrusive they are in our private affairs.

foreign countries are investing in the usa treasury bills & debt becuase

they believe in america and know it's a stable return. these foriegners

know that money invested in us treasuries is better than brazilian,
german

or swiss treasuries.
