Well, I wish I had read all of the responses before posting, but I completely agree with both Jack and Cherie.

My job is to convert the engineer's idea (schematic) to an actual physical thing he can hold in his hand, so it is my responsibility to provide every type of data needed to fabricate, assemble, test and document the product.
Assuming I have done a good job of creating the data in such a way that will avoid problems, save time, etc (all the DFx considerations), my job ends when I get the various chunks of data into the right hands.
DONE.
Of course, I'm always here to support my customers no matter what happens down the line, but I don't chase anything.
I send the data out, and from that point on - "no news is good news"....!!!

by the way, I'm not suggesting you should actively resist if your company wants you to do MORE, (like quoting, for example) but that's not really the job of a typical circuit board designer in my opinion.
