If you look at manufacturers' data sheets, you'll find that an 0603 is .060"
x .030" nominally.

I have a doubt. It may be a very small one. I would like to know what the
sizes 0603, 0805 etc etc specify?
Does 0603 mean that the size of that discrete component is .6mm x .3mm ?
Likewise is 0805  0.8mm x 0.5mm ?
