Our manufacturer in Mexico has the following requirements for radial
     through hole parts:
To be auto-inserted, the pin pitch must be a min. 5.0mm. The diameter
of the part must be min. 3mm, max. 14mm (13mm for elec. capacitor).
The height of the part must be min. 6mm, max. 21mm.
Radial Insertion machine can insert the part if there is a 0.5mm
opening around the part body. Also, obtain the minimum dimension
below for the spacing between radial parts' holes.

      - O---O
      ^
      2.5mm(3.0mm) O
      v |
      - O---O O---O O
            |< 3.0mm >| |< 2.5 >|
                            (3.5)

The values in parentheses are for transistors.

Also, our manufacturer in Taiwan has the following requirements for
spacing between radial through-hole parts and SMT parts:
1.27mm min. spacing between the outer edge of the radial part and the
edge of the SMT pad. 2.54mm min. spacing between the center of the
radial part's holes and the edge of the SMT pad.

Not everyone has the same requirements, but I hope this is of some
     help.

Hi to all!

This is a great place to get excellent information. I need some
info ASAP. I'm working on a board that is going to be manufactured
over-seas and can't get this information from that manufacturer. I
have some good guidelines for auto-inserting axial components and
DIPs, but I need to know the spacing requirements for radial
components (caps, transistors, 1/4W & 2W resistors that are stood
up). Can anyone help me out?

This board also has to meet UL approval per UL/CSA/CE/VDE for
250VAC. I am using 100mil trace widths with 100mil air gaps
minimum, sound good to you?

Hope you don't mind all my questions. More than that, I hope you
don't mind answering all my questions because I'm sure I'll be
asking alot more. That's what we're here for, right?

				Thank You again!
