Good, safe rule of thumb is to go with 2x cap rating over 'where used'
application.  Various brands with the same otherwise form, fit, function will
have varying degrees of tolerance - as rated; as well as varying degrees of
voltage handling capability - as rated.  I don't know of any particular
studies on cap voltage performance, perhaps your manufacturer does.  Their
apps engineers should be able to spec what's safe to use in your app.  That's
who I'd consult.  Maybe their particular ~6V cap is OK at 6V in your app.
