I am representing a leading $500 million consumer electronics and we are
searching for the following to lead a group of 15 engineers:



The Product Development Project Manager is responsible for supporting the
Product Category management team and the New Business Development team with
all aspects of product production research and development. This includes
management of all production engineers, industrial designers, Cad designers
and other Product Development personnel.


  Responsibilities:
  The Product Development Project Manager will:

 * Properly resource the Product Development department to meet all of the
company's product development objectives.

 * Train, nurture, develop, motivate, review, evaluate and guide the product
engineers and product development team members to achieve their personal
growth objectives and towards maximizing the company's product, sales and
profitability objectives.

 * Take corrective action and manage progressive discipline for
underperforming  or ill-performing team members.

 * Supervise all projects and project tracking to insure on-time delivery,
quality excellence and optimum cost efficiency.

 * Develop close working partnerships with Product Management team, New
Business Development team and R & D. Allocate department's resources
 appropriately to meet their needs efficiently and effectively.

 * Review and approve all projects on a regular and frequent basis until
completion.

 * Work within and refine the SFPD process on an ongoing basis

 * Maintain and manage professional relationships with all external
suppliers,  partners, manufacturers, customers etc.

 * Pro-actively determine, request and implement all capital needs
including,  but not limited to demo/test equipment, computer
hardware/software and other  equipment needs. PERFORMANCE METRICS: The
incumbent's performance will be  assessed on:
* Managing Product Engineers to meet deadlines
 * Development and Refinement of current SFPD product-to-market process
 * Maintaining a balanced and maximized workload amongst team members
 * Re-sourcing the department to meet current and future needs
 * Working with other departments to streamline communication and make
the team  more productive
 * Building relationships with Key Dept managers


 KEY RELATIONSHIPS: The incumbent will form key relationships with:
 * Product Category Managers
 * Marketing
 * Market Area Managers
 * The CEO
 * Purchasing and Production
 * Director of Product Development


   Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following experience or knowledge in
 the following areas:
 * 8 + years of Production engineering management expertise
 * Strong people management skills
 * Consumer electronics experience
 * Industrial Design and Package Design exposure
 * CAD exposure
 * Strong written and verbal communication skills
 * General computer skills
 * BS degree. EE or equal experience
