This is the kind of spirit I am accustomed to from you members of the
Designers Council... You folks are awesome! What a great organization!

Just as a side note... I wrote an e-mail to Mike Jouppi this week when all
the discussion was taking place and he informed me of the status of his
project and some of the hurdles they had to overcome...believe me it has not
been easy..  If I get his permission I will post that reply on the forum...

One thing he mentioned in his reply that struck me... much like this
situation with the online land pattern calculator, support was not always
forthcoming when they needed it to pay for programming expertise and the
like and Mike eventually took the funds from his own 401K retirement to
finance the development of the calculators and tools they made... He has not
seen a return on his investment as yet... and may not for a long time... if
ever...

The perception that folks have that this sort of thing gets done for free is
just not true... in fact if we didn't have folks like Mike, and Tom, and
Nick... there would be little progress on a lot of things we take for
granted... It takes effort and time and money to make the tools for us to
benefit from our membership and it's only as good as we the members of this
organization make it... volunteering to get involved in the DC is it's life
blood... and you guys make it happen. Every single one of you...

Thanks for all you do... It makes it better for us all. Keep up the good
work!
