I've been sitting on my laurels for quite some time - I guess this came
from many years of steady employment. My recent layoff has now given me the
incentive, as well as time ;) to increment my CID certification to the
advanced CID+ level (funny how that works).

I'd like to skip the two day training and just take the exam - I know this
was an option available in the past. I'll be attending the PCB West, so I
contacted the company which sells the certification training packages at
this conference and was told cost for enrolling in just the "CID+ Designer
CHALLENGE test is $1,195.00". This seems a bit unreasonable since it is the
same price as their full package - 2 days of training plus another half day
for the test and review.

I wouldn't mind enrolling in the full training package except that my
budget is pretty tight these days. The "Designer CHALLENGE test" seems like
just a way of saying "we won't sell just the exam".

Can anyone tell me if just the exam is available anywhere at a more
reasonable cost?
