Afta-Score Machine
Brandon,
Above is the info to contact the people who sell the Afta-Score. This is a
machine that looks somewhat like a table saw, but smaller (abt 2' x 2')
that sits on a workbench. It has two "cutter" wheels or blades, one on top
and one on bottom. You line up the grooves in the panel with the cutters
and feed it thru the machine. It deepens the cuts to the point that very
slight pressure will separate the boards in the panels. We have made some
boards that were as small as about 0.75" x 0.30" with surface mount parts
on them and had no problem depaneling them.

Subject: Re: [DC] PCB Scoring
Scott,
What is an "after-scoring" machine? We score most of our boards and
also
have concerns about component breakage. The other advantage to some type
of
board removal device is that we may be able to place to boards closer
together. Currently we are required to place the boards far enough apart
to
leave a large piece of fr4 left to grab a hold of.
Any info would be appreciated!

Steve,
Use an after-score machine to break the boards out of the panel.
