Bill,
There was an article published in the Printed Circuit Design during
January of 1998 under the Designer's Notebook section by Mary Sugden.
The article covered functions and competencies. The functions were
Drafting, Design and Engineering while the competencies covered PCB
Design/Drafter, Junior Printed Circuit Designer, Printed Circuit
Designer, Senior Printed Circuit Designer and finally Printed Circuit
Design Engineer. The information was gathered through online surveys and
the descriptions were created based on feedback from the PCB community.
The descriptions were pretty good and maybe you could take a look at
these by going back into the magazine archives. If you can not find the
info give me a call and I could fax you a copy of the article.

Thanks George... that's good input.

I incorporated some of it into the descriptions I have on the website...
I'll do some more in a little while when I get a break...
I think we need something for the more advanced designer/engineers and
Cad librarians too... Perhaps I can borrow some of these ideas and get a
little closer to a descent job description page.
