In the good old days when we could actually see the parts, we used the 
following for lead bend centers.

L = B + 3D + FA

where

B = Max Body Length

D = Nominal lead diameter

FA = Fabrication Allowance = .070

then,  L is rounded to the next highest .100 inch.
