Ron,
If you have the ability to read in "areafill" files into your laser plotter,
then you can use ASM500 to create smaller Gerber files since only the
outline of the Hybrid Circuit is required. There is probably a
configuration setting in ASM500 to set Gerber output to "areafill". Most
laser plotters can input "areafill" data and automatically fill the outlines
in on-the-fly during imaging.

Subject: autocad to gerber conversion programs

Request for advice.

We are presently using "ASM500" from "Artwork Conversion Software" to
convert
Autocad to Gerber files.
The type of Autocad files are mostly Hybrid Circuits and some large
repetitive printed circuit
type patterns.

For the most part we are satified with the software with the exception of
the
size of the resulting
Gerber files. I have been asked to evaluate "Gerb Art" from "Cad Design
Services". Any options
will be helpful.

Thanks.
