Chris,
There are quite a few user groups which have Email addresses.
A list can be gotten out of the P.C. Design Magazine. I can only
relay my experience with one, the Mentor Users Group. They have
a very active Email exploder or SIG (special interest Group).
There are always discussions on solving problems, sharing
user written software and sharing ideas.

Subscribing/Unsubscribing and other information about Exploders
About MUG's E-Mail Exploder Lists

The E-Mail Exploder Lists maintained by MUG are done so using Brent
Chapman's Majordomo mailing list manager. Majordomo has many features
designed to automate the management of mailing lists. These include
automatically handling subscription/unsubscription requests, ability to
deal with closed lists and moderated lists, as well as archiving,
digesting and other list management functions.
Subscribing/Unsubscribing to a Mailing List

To subscribe to a mailing list, send the following command in the BODY,
(NOT SUBJECT) of an email message to <list_name>[log in to unmask]
subscribe <address>
To unsubscribe substitute the following command.
unsubscribe <address>
Majordomo Commands

In the description below items contained in []'s are optional. When
providing the item, do not include the []'s around it.
Commands should be sent in the BODY of an email message to
"[log in to unmask]".
Commands in the "Subject:" line are NOT processed.
If you have any questions or problems, please contact

subscribe <list> [<address>]
Subscribe yourself (or <address> if specified) to the named <list>.
