Hi Jerry,
You may want to read these, if your product falls under the title
of being a Medical device.
IEC 601-1: The international standard for Medical Equipment Safety.
IEC 60601-1-2: The international standard for Medical Equipment EMC
I am sure that there are FDA standards that apply as well.
Regards;
Derek

Subject: [DC] certification question
All,
What certifications, besides UL,
might be needed for a commercial product targeted specifically
to the visually impaired ?
