The following is the fourth part of the Designer Council Charter.
There are four parts to the charter. Please save each part and
combine for your reference.

IV. Interaction with Other Bodies on Design Standards and
Activities

 A. The Designers Council recognizes that standards-developing
organizations have their own procedures for approval of
standards. In most cases, these procedures have been
approved by the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
and the International Organization for Standards (ISO), and
     meet all recognized consensus requirements

 B. Representatives from the Designers Council shall be assigned
as liaison representatives to all known design standards
committees or groups involved in development, design,
concurrent engineering or design for manufacturing
     activities.

 C. In those cases where the Designers Council makes a
recommendation to a design standardization body, it would be
requested that feedback or response be sent to the Executive
Board within four (4) months. Comments on proposed
standards, by individual chapters, to standards-developing
organizations are sent directly to the responsible
organizations with a courtesy copy to the Executive Board.

 D. On evidence that a recommended standard has been approved by
a standards-developing organization and, is in accord with
the organizations approval procedure, the Designers Council
will officially acknowledge and if possible endorse the
     standard.

     V. Committees and Other Activities

 A. Designers Council Committees, such as promotion, education,
and designers certification, should have a standard
     committee structure (chairman, vice-chairman, and
secretary), and report to the Executive Board.

The Designers Council Executive Board shall set the goals
for the designers certification activity and review all
programs of certification. The chairman of the Executive
Board shall sign the certification report based on the
recommendations of the Designers Certification Committee and
the details described in the approved certification
     procedure.
