 Craig,

We as product company have different level of reviews starting from new
product innovation to EOL review.

When your 2nd (or 3rd) set of eyes look over your work, are they
literally over your shoulder going net-by-net at the PCB or CAM files?

As a PCB designer, yes we have different gates where we split up into
small milestones verifying each requirement from different function
units(schematic, SI,DFM, DFT,DFA, reliability, compliance,
mechanical..etc)
Each units use different files for review, like ODB, CDC2FAB, Testprep,
netlist, DXF, EMN, ASCII..etc)

Are they looking at 1:1 or x:1 paper checkplots or tranparencies?

Each unit use their own tools for verification - SI team use Hyperlynx,
simulation tools, DFM/DFA - Valor, Mechanical-Flowtherm,Autocad etc,
Each unit validates whether design meets the required constraints by 1:1
review, simulation review, gerberchecks,etc

Anybody booking a conference space and using a projector?
If Dept. heads are signing off, what are they using to scrutinize the
work?

We invite/send files to them to review from their aspects. Send the
files in advance and fix a meeting place(conference room & gotomeeting)
to review and signoff.

What about file sharing and IM-ing, anybody attempting that?

Yes we share desktop sharing method via meeting place, IM&email for any
query, ask for clarification etc..

Design review - its really an experts review to fix issues in advance!!
It saves $$$

I appreciate the responses, but I realize I didn't properly ask what I
was really looking for.
I also misused punctuation, so I'll try again.

Yes, I have checklists and we have a (somewhat) formal design review
process.

But what tools are being used out there?

I hope this better conveys what I was striving for.

Thanks again.
