PP at Pin 1 ist technically nonsense (mostly a dinosaur from THT when
somebody had to stuff the first pin in the first hole...)
PP at cross sectional center is OK as long as the part is
symmetrical. The best PP would be the weight center (sorry, don't
know the word for German "Schwerpunkt"), especially for odd things
like D-PAK etc.

And - help the library guy who made the PP at Pin 1 to understand the
p&p process
