One of our mechanical engineers asked a question I've never had to answer.
Are there any specifications for the pull out force of a soldered, through
hole, IC?
I assume that depending on the type of PCB and the number of pins on a
through hole part, there is a spec. for how much load the part can
withstand.  I'm not sure where to find this spec.
TIA for any info you can give me.
