Program Description: IPC Designers Council Meeting - (public invited)
Learn new techniques for CAD library land pattern optimization! As component
manufacturers continue to produce new device packages at an accelerated
rate, electronics product designers are challenged to keep pace with current
printed circuit board assembly requirements. Keeping CAD Libraries
up-to-date is very important, especially with RoHS "Lead Free" compliance
coming up so soon. New component lead styles for "High Speed" design are
replacing older ones. Component land patterns are changing and lead free
soldering requirements are driving changes in the way we must design our new
products. The solution is incorporating strict comprehensive standards like
the "New Release" of the IPC-7351A that includes: Land Pattern Origin, Zero
Component Orientation, "Newly Updated" Land Pattern Naming Convention,
Padstacks, Placement Courtyard boundaries, "Newly Updated" Mathematical
Formulas for Solder Joint Goals, Silkscreen Outlines, 3D Modeling, Assembly
Drawing Details, 3-Tier Library System for Least, Nominal and Most material
condition component mounting land patterns. The IPC-7351 LP Software is
applicable to all CAD tool formats worldwide. Door Prize: IPC-7351A LP
Calculator V4.20 - You won't want to miss this meeting!

Who should attend?

PCB layout CAD designers
EE engineers
CAD Librarians
Electronics industry Managers
Assembly shop workers

Door Prize: IPC-7351A LP Calculator V4.20

Tom Hausherr and Mike Creeden met in 1976 and have worked together at many
different companies over the past 30 years teaching each other tips and
tricks of achieving high quality PCB design layout. Tom and Mike were
together to take the first available IPC CID+ test in Tempe, AZ. Mike
Creeden CID+ owns San Diego PCB service bureau and Tom Hausherr CID+ is the
CEO & Director of Technology for PCB Libraries, Inc.
