Bob,

I have a list of some manufactures you can check out...
http://www.pcbwizards.com/manufacturing.htm

We recently had a number of fab shops quote Flex boards for us and there
were obvious differences... in approach, limitations and in cost.

Most recent we have been talking with Molex (the connector manufacturer) who
has a division that is doing flex circuits as well. Cosmotronic did a
presentation for our chapter on Flex circuits that was well received, I
really don't have any specific recommendation however, we just have not had
that much exposure to the flex market here...

One thing to do is really spend time looking at different ways to accomplish
the circuit you are trying to design, there are cost savings that might not
be apparent at first that you can employ to simplify the design and save the
cost of more complex features in the circuit. We found that to be the case
in our situation.

You might check and see if anyone on TechNet has any suggestions too.

Best regards,

Subject: [DC] Flex Circuit Fabricators

Does anyone know of a list of Fabricators who do Flexible Circuits?
Better yet, does a list exist that compares their capabilities with flex
circuits?

The technology has been around for some time but it seems many fabricators
who claim to do flex circuits have various types of limitations. Things
like layer counts,
impedance requirements, line widths and clearances, etc.

My company is prepared to do a survey of flex circuit fabricators in an
effort to find
qualified vendors to support our long term production goals. Perhaps such
a survey
has already been done? Your contributions, feedback and input is much
appreciated.
