the IPC-7351 standard supersedes the IPC-782 .. yes,  some of the land
patterns (especially the passives) are very different from the
IPC-782..

in our case, we adviced our assembler that we are using 7351 and
suggested they check it using the 7351.. right now I think they are
transitioning to 7351

PCB Libraries also has a tool for calculating the correct land pattern
based on the IPC-7351
